The Board of Regents is the highest level of authority at Qatar University, overseeing all university policies and operations. The Board is responsible for approving the university's annual budget and any major changes in university policies, academic structures, degree programs, or administrative arrangements.

H.H. the Heir Apparent is the Chairperson of the Board of Regents, providing leadership and guidance to both the Board and to Qatar University as a whole.

His Excellency Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, is the Vice Chair of the Board of Regents.
