The University provides various scholarships to attract highly qualified students, especially those whose financial conditions may preclude them from acquiring a university education. While many of these scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and competitiveness, the University also provides other scholarships that are based on need. All scholarships, however, cover the cost of tuition fees. The benefits of some scholarships extend beyond tuition fee waiver. They may include one or more of the following benefits: free accommodation in university dormitories, transportation to and from the university, and a yearly airfare ticket to the home country for students who are not residents of Qatar.
